One-way Ticket
One-way Ticket’s characteristics:
- entitles to make a single journey for the relationship corresponding to the type of fare purchased, regardless of the number of lines used;
- is valid from the time it is validated on board of the bus;
- the journey must be continuous and in the case of transhipment the user must use the first available connection, otherwise the validity will lapse.
Regional tickets
In order to encourage the use of local public transport, the Lombardy Region has established three types of preferential documents, known as:
Io Viaggio in Famiglia
is a facility that applies to the following types of securities:

Simple travel: allows children up to 14 years of age to travel free of charge on all public transport services if accompanied by a relative (parent, brother, uncle or grandfather) provided with a valid travel document for the same route.

Monthly and annual subscriptions: valid for families with two or more children under the age of 18 who have a subscription with a Public Transport Company operating in Lombardy.
The following reductions are foreseen:

the second child is granted a 20% discount on the price of the corresponding full rate subscription;

the third and subsequent child is issued a free subscription with a price lower than the subscription price on which the 20% discount for the second child is granted.
The discount is applied to the subscription sold at a lower rate than the first subscription (according to the principle that a higher discount applies on the cheapest subscription.)
Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia

daily, bi-daily, tri-daily and pluri-daily: nominative title prepared and printed by Trenitalia Le Nord that allows you to travel on all public transport services on rubber and iron, urban and suburban of the Lombardia Region
Excluding intercity and higher category trains, airport connection services, navigation on the lakes of Como, Garda and Maggiore and tourist cable cars

monthly, quarterly, annual: subscriptions that allow to use all the transport services on rubber and iron (II class), urban and extraurban of the Lombardia Region, with the only exceptions already provided for the annual CRT. It can be used in conjunction with CartaPlus Lombardy monthly to access IC-EC and similar trains, the Malpensa Express and the first class of regional trains.
Io Viaggio Ovunque in Provincia
- monthly: title that allows to use all the public transport services on rubber and iron (II class) of the Province in which they were purchased.

Infringiments and penalities
A traveller who does not have a valid travel document or identification card is subject to an administrative penalty of up to 100 times the cost of the ordinary single-journey ticket minimum class, in addition to the ticket payment (Regione Lombardia n. 18/2013). Moreover, in case of repetition of the violation within three years, the sanction is doubled (Law Lombardia Region n. 46/2012).
In the event of misuse of identification or free movement cards, in addition to the payment of the fine and the ticket price, the document will be definitively seized by the control staff.
The offender is obliged to show a valid personal identity document; refusal to provide his personal details is punishable by criminal law (art. 651 Criminal Code).
The forgery of tickets is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment of up to one year and a fine (art. 462 Penal code). The use of forged or altered travel documents in the validation constitutes an administrative offence (art. 466 Criminal Code).
